Our Vision
The Evergreen Chapter of the Club Management Association of America is a strong, vibrant organization that delivers significant value to its members and the clubs they serve. It has a high level of participation by active, retired and partner members representing all types of private clubs and has a solid reputation nationally as an effective chapter within CMAA. The Chapter has strong representation in the CMAA governance and strong ties with other chapters in the region.
Members perceive exceptional value for their membership as evidenced by a significant membership penetration within the club community. The Chapter has a strong educational calendar and diverse methods of educational delivery, creates a professional career path for members, has an influence on public policy issues that affect clubs, and provides mentorship opportunities. Communication within the Chapter and between members is open, frequent and convenient. The Chapter has a useful website that is filled with tools to assist members. The Chapter provides funding and additional opportunities for professional growth for members.
The Chapter is financially stable and utilizes a strategic governance system. Its Board is composed of respected, thoughtful leaders and represents all types of private clubs. Board service is seen as valuable and as a position of honor within the profession. The Board has created positive alliances with select marketplace partners, related trade associations and professional societies and has a good reputation within the club industry. The Evergreen Chapter’s staff is trained, dedicated, equipped and supported to carry on its work.

Core Values
PROFESSIONALISM: The Chapter demonstrates industry awareness and applies leadership qualities, competencies, skills and knowledge in keeping with core values, goals and ethics of the Evergreen Chapter and National CMAA.
EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION: The Chapter provides timely, accurate, professional and relevant industry information via educational offerings, website content, social media email blasts, phone calls, periodic mailers and personal outreach.
MEMBER SERVICE DRIVEN: The Chapter makes it a top priority to research and respond to Members’ needs, to the needs of Evergreen Chapter partners, and to develop plans to meet these needs and to surpass member expectations.
INTEGRITY: The Chapter will exhibit honesty and transparency in all its dealings.
MENTORING: The Chapter advocates collaborating with, educating and training members and their colleagues - encouraging them to better themselves personally and professionally.
RESOURCE: The Chapter will be a resource for all members in need of data to assist and/or operate their clubs with access to surveys, benchmarking, policies and procedures, governance models and peer networking.
OUTCOMES – FOCUSED GOVERNANCE: The Chapter will set goals and execute timelines and objectives based on its Strategic Plan toward the achievement of our Vision, Mission and Core Values.
FUN AND FRIENDLY: The Chapter maintains a positive, welcoming demeanor and engages people in a warm and kind manner at all times.
Our Strategic Plan
I. Professional Development: To provide affordable, wide- ranging, accessible, quality, relevant, and timely programs for our members.
II. COMMUNICATIONS: To provide efficient, diverse, timely communications to our members, partners and other stakeholders.
III. MEMBERSHIP: To build an active membership that is sufficient to support the goals and objectives of the Chapter.
IV. PARTNERSHIPS AND ALLIANCES: To identify and build strong relationships with allied associations and industry partners to increase the Chapter’s influence on industry relevant policies, improve Chapter educational effectiveness, create opportunities for membership development, and increase communications.
V. GOVERNANCE AND ADMINISTRATION: To create and maintain a strong, strategic Board of Directors and Executive Director that will effectively carry out the mission of the Chapter.
- Offer diverse educational sessions in a number of competency areas.
- Use technology to allow for a broader spectrum of participation by members.
- Conduct regular surveys to ascertain member preference for future programs.
- Develop strong relationships with vendors and allied organizations to enhance the quality of our educational programming.
- Share educational calendars and resources with other chapters in our region.
- Provide scholarship and mentoring opportunities to members for their professional development.
II. COMMUNICATIONS: To provide efficient, diverse, timely communications to our members, partners and other stakeholders.
- Utilize the Chapter website to keep members informed on Chapter activities.
- Maintain a system of regular bulletins and postings to members informing them of Chapter activities, resources and information they can use.
- Build a strong brand image of the Chapter with members, individual club leadership, and affiliated organizations.
III. MEMBERSHIP: To build an active membership that is sufficient to support the goals and objectives of the Chapter.
- Identify potential members and establish annual engagement and membership growth goals.
- Develop and maintain a membership recruitment, engagement and retention program.
- Conduct regular needs assessment surveys and establish benchmarks to assure the chapter is responding to member needs and make the results available to members.

PARTNERSHIPS AND ALLIANCES: To identify and build strong relationships with allied associations and industry partners to increase the Chapter’s influence on industry relevant policies, improve Chapter educational effectiveness, create opportunities for membership development, and increase communications.
V. GOVERNANCE AND ADMINISTRATION: To create and maintain a strong, strategic Board of Directors and Executive Director that will effectively carry out the mission of the Chapter.
- Develop and support effective committees as needed that focus on the strategic goals of the Evergreen Chapter and provide opportunities for member participation, particularly new members.
- Ensure that volunteers are engaged in meaningful, enjoyable committee and Board work.
- Create a strategic focus for the work of the Chapter.
- Support the Executive Director in carrying out policy and managing the daily affairs of the Chapter.
